Trading day boundary
Choose whether a trading day runs midnight to midnight, or follows the CME futures session like your prop firm does.
Applies to TradeScope 2.4 · Updated September 2026
Futures trade almost around the clock, so “one day” depends on where you draw the line. TradeScope lets you choose. Change it in Settings → General → Trading day boundary.
The three choices

| Choice | A day runs from | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Calendar day (default) | Midnight to midnight, your computer’s time | Matching NinjaTrader’s Trade Performance grid |
| CME Globex | 6:00 PM to 6:00 PM, New York time | Matching your prop firm’s daily ledger and NinjaTrader’s Accounts tab |
| Custom… | Any time you pick, in one of several time zones | Other sessions or brokers |
Under CME Globex, a fill on Sunday at 7:30 PM ET counts toward Monday, the same way the exchange and most prop firms count it. The setting shows which session “right now” belongs to, so you can check it.
What it changes
The boundary decides which day every trade belongs to, everywhere: the Calendar, Dashboard, Journal, charts, reset dates and excluded days. Nothing stored changes, so you can switch back and forth freely. The Execution Timeline always uses calendar days.
Why “This Month” might show next month
With CME Globex on, the new trading day starts at 6:00 PM ET. So on the evening of the last day of a month, after 6:00 PM ET, TradeScope is already on the 1st of the next month. This Month, This Week and Today all follow the trading day, not your computer’s date. That’s expected, and it matches how your prop firm books the trades.
Numbers that differ from NinjaTrader
NinjaTrader’s Trade Performance grid always uses calendar days. With CME Globex on, its day-by-day numbers won’t line up with TradeScope’s around 6:00 PM. Its Accounts tab does use the CME day, so it will match.
One more side effect: a trade opened at 3:00 PM and closed at 7:00 PM ET on the same date crosses the 6:00 PM line, so under CME Globex it counts as a carried-over position.
